I have always been a modern warfare fan for the call of duty series and a fan of the original call of duties. The only 2 Treyarch games that impressed me were world at war and black ops 2; the rest not so much. However with Black Ops Cold War this peculiar yet familiar emotion emerged, very similar to that emotion I felt when I first played Modern Warfare 2 and the new Modern Warfare, the feeling of something new. Although I’m not much of a black ops fan I have really been enjoying this one and can say this is my favorite call of duty black ops game since black ops 2. I had high hopes for black ops 4 but they were completely crushed. Sure the movement is slightly different in multiplayer when compared to MW but it’s supposed to be different yet it’s still an enjoyable game. The fact that it feels different from modern warfare is actually what allows me to enjoy it and avoid the notion of it being your “typically call of duty game “ or that call of duty games never change. Zombies is incredible I think and the campaign... wow! Now the integration with warzone is another discussion though, as the imbalance between Cold War Guns and MW guns can be felt but hey it just got started, I’m sure it will be eventually fixed. I can’t complain with some gun imbalances especially when you max out the M16 😂 and honestly this integration and the cross over is generous from Call of Duty, I mean the enormous selection of guns and customization is amazing but I can imagine it’s a bit overwhelming for new players and some old players. This is only my opinion, a working class married citizen whom grew up gaming with sega, Nintendo GameCube etc... and plays games 2 - 4 times a week if I’m lucky. I would rate Cold War an 8 out of ten, Modern Warfare ( new version) a 9 and Modern Warfare 2 a 9.5-10. Lastly most people will follow the social norm or decision of the game and be convinced that it’s a bad or okay game yet these same individuals will not only continuing bashing the game but find themselves continue playing it.
