Just saw the first two episodes and it was a DISGRACE. The series is not even close to Aldous Huxley’s novel and all the characters are reimagined or changed drastically. Even if the series itself wasn’t based on the book the plot itself seems to go nowhere and is confusing. It really is like another young adult fiction, Aldous Huxley should roll over his grave by now with the fact this tv series disrespected his novel. The whole meaning of the novel involves a few basic themes which today our society would hate to hear or deny:
-The use of new tech to control society
-Artificial engineering of reproduction and the removal of ovaries
-Removal of individuality, being, and preferences from the individual
-Truth and reality being diminished by temporary pleasures and drugs
-Society being divided by social stratification
I don’t understand how NBC missed out on this, yet let’s not forget its all about bringing pleasure to the audience instead of truth and reality
