Shazam is the next step that dc takes to be a wannabe Marvel. You know what marvel, your movies are not that good, but you stuck to your plan and trusted your vision and for that i salute you. Now don't misunderstand me, Shazam is a good movie, but it sucks compared to what dceu had achieved till now. I had high expectation for David Sandberg and his team, went there expecting an inspiring and fun story, but had to return with simply a fun event(cause the storytelling is not that much). There was a lot of potential for this buildup but it ended up into a flat world with no consequences. But of course the critics love it because it is fun as all superhero movies should be(i am tired of this bs). Direction- 6 Visuals - 6 Music - 5 Story - 6(would have been ten if it was played out well) Script - 9(its fun and the jokes are not cheesy) Costume 6 Verdict:6/10 which means it is a good movie and you must watch it. NOT SPOILER FREE: When i watched MoS and BvS i was happy to see a real world superhero movie with consequences excellent emotional backstory and acting. WW followed this trend (except for the stupidity in the final act) but then things started to decline(JL and SS). Then when they started announcing they are not following the Marvel style anymore i was happy that we have not seen the last of dceu yet. Then came Aquaman and Shazam and i realised what a big lie it was. You might make some money but no one will remember your works and this universe will die as all others WB. Shazam was plagued with average visuals(a rarity in dceu) and poor storytelling. Asher Angels and Zachary Levi's characters do not match at all(Zach was awesome by the way), and all the emotional scenes were done with casual taste that i felt was not faithful to the story and script.(there is a scene where monsters scare the children and they simply stare at it as if it was on a TV screen). And also David, make sure your superheros doesn't defy basic physics(like when a 3ton bus takes a 30m fall and Shazam catches the bus on the glass pane and nobody dies). (Sigh) to be honest I wouldn't have been this critical if Mos and Bvs where not released.Still- good lighthearted movie i suppose

Captain Marvel is what you would call an Average Marvel Flick. It definitely doesnt disappoint you but does not marvel you as well. It is surprising that Marvel actually tried to bring in a story this time. Verdict : Watchable , Lighthearted Direction:6 Cinematography:7 Music:7 Script:4(cheap jokes again) Acting:5(Brie Larson under performs) Story:8(its a bit Cliche buy still..) Final Verdict: 6/10

Note: Be prepared to be bombed in your face by VFX and a lot of colour ....NOT SPOILER FREE ANYMORE..... James wan does a fantastic job with the visuals and i am sure it will awe you.This kind of actually makes up for the bad parts of the movie. Though most people praise the costumes its not very good to me. I guess they feel its good because there are a large variety of costumes being presented, but none of them actually feels immersive to the universe. Rupert Gregson-Williams...dude seriously. I knew you were not that good when i saw WW, but this kind of actually makes you dizzy hearing to it. There was this scene when they fall into the desert mid-way when your music stopped for some seconds(for the only time in the entire movie i guess), but before i could feel relieved you hit me with that Disney Princess theme. Script kind of sucks because it was written by a 12 year old boy. The lack of story is felt because of the pacing of the movie.It is just big events and big events, nothing that adds moral depth to the story is present (especially in the first half where they kind of actually cut between events as though providing a seminar on Aquaman Science.) Some jokes were good but some sucked so bad(That one with a grandma watching Aquaman fight is so Marvel cliche).And then we have the braincracking reasons for Aquaman and mera to fall in love 1. She grabs his hand accidentally 2.She falls on him accidentally. However great performances by the cast. Excellent casting choices. Ocean Master is a 10/10. Verdict: After watching a ZS cbm all other cbm's look kinda bad. But with all these negatives i would still classify it in the good category. And please don't tell me there was no studio meddling, its bright as daylight. PS: As the movie continues aquaman's dress gets brighter and brighter that in Aquaman 2 it will be used as a portable sun.
