Yeah it's good, but what on earth was that ending? Not satisfying at all, it feels like it was cut 3/4th of the film through. There's no time spent talking about the aftermath, it's just: they all shoot each other except Mr.Pink, and he gets away with the diamonds. That's it. Not very satisfying as an ending. Also, it sounds like Quentin Tarantino write all his character's dialogue to be like a normal person talking, and then hands the script to someone to convert it into more LA-speak (far more casual speech with more metaphors and examples). Which feels very untrue because no one talks about complicated things like that.

I fully expected this movie to be a disaster. 'The New Mutants' has never been an A-tier comic book, and this movie was the last to come out of the X-Men after the Disney-Fox merger. That combined with the 2 years delay and several re-shootings, made me think this movie would be a low budget flop. I am happy I was wrong. The New Mutants is a solid 8/10 movie. It's a good movie. It has well fleshed-out characters, high-quality CGI and a satisfying overall story. While it is described as a horror movie, I would say it's more of a movie with horror elements. Instead it focuses more on it's characters, and that's it's greatest strength. The 5 main characters have unique and distinct personalities, and it's a treat to see them interacting with each other. The unexpected part about this movie for me, was how good the CGI is. Illyana's powers are done beyond perfectly. This is how I would expect it to be done in a movie with twice it's budget. The CGI is done perfectly everywhere else too; in Dani's nightmare bear, The smiling faces, Roberto's fire, that Kentucky dude's speed and Rahne's wolf form(which reminds me of Shakespeare for some reason). If things had turned out differently, I would have liked to see where these characters went from here. There is a lot of potential for new stories in them. Hell, I would watch a sequel on Illyana alone. Good movie overall.

I'll get straight to the point: I want a sequel. Okay, here's the thing about this movie. It's good, but it's lacking in what made the original a flawless timeless classic; the protagonist. In the original MIB, Agent J(Will Smith) was what kept me watching the movie. Now sure, there are tons of amazing special effects and the great thrill of watching the planet be saved from aliens, but watching J go from being a normal guy to a proper world-saving badass was what hit home for me. I could relate to this character. That and Agent K's arc too was amazing. That's why I love MIB . This movie has an amazing cast, but the story that drives them feels lacking to me. Don't get me wrong, the movie IS a good movie, but I would have liked to see the characters fleshed out more. Basically, the story needs more heart. Otherwise it's a solid good MIB movie. It's got all the stuff the other stuff I expected. Solid film 8/10. Now do a sequel with more backstory for the characters and a Will Smith cameo. CGI looked a little lacking tho, but then again this isn't Avengers: Endgame.
