Brad Bird didn't want to make a sequel originally and I can see why. The original was a good satire of the superhero genre, was cleverly constructed, had good character arcs and strong themes. None of this is in the sequel - it's bland, clichéd and forgettable.
The best thing about this film are the Jack-Jack scents which are completely irrelevant to the plot. Helen has become a hypocrite who now puts her own fun above her family, Bob is now useless and Dash is kind of non-existent.
It's not a bad film but neither is it great. Kids will like it, but the glory days of Pixar are definitely over (Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Incredibles, Monsters Inc). Needless and forgettable sequels and reboots are the flavour of the day. They make money off our craving for nostalgia.
Please don't make an Incredibles 3.
