This drama was so beautiful - I went in thinking I would just watch it here and there but I loved it; the storyline is so beautiful and the music and special effects are fantastic. The leads carry the idea of this destined romance really well and their chemistry shines throughout. I think it lost its way a little towards the end but I still enjoyed it and will miss it dearly. I think there is a possibility of s2 (but without the leads)

Everything that could be said about this drama has probably already been said but I couldn't not leave a review The show is beautiful and heartbreaking. I went in knowing little about the history and was devastated by the ending The storyline was beautiful and every cast member was amazing but undoubtedly the leads stole the show. There was definitely a lot of heartbreak and the ending is devastating but it was the right ending for the show and to do justice to what happened during that time I'll miss hae tee and myong so - they were very much loved and had the cutest first date in k drama history.

Phenomenal drama - I think people think it should be fast paced from the beginning but this drama sets the tempo right and had me at the edge of my seat esp in the latter half of the series. The cast is amazing but the two male leads were both outstanding and carried the show. This is my time Korean thriller and although I did miss romance this was such a great storyline and the characters really suck you in; I'll miss seeing them I'm surprised at the level of hate Yeo Jin-goo's character is getting - we have to remember that he grew up around no real attachment and bonds and sticks to what is right and wrong so he was always going to struggle with the male leads character; however he completely changed at the end and tried to atone for his own sins and his father's. It's his character who has quite a sad ending as he will have to carry that guilt forever and the only place where he had found some attachment was at manyang but he won't ever really be able to stay there with them

Words can't describe fully how amazing this drama is and how much I loved it. I remember seeing the trailer and really not thinking it was my thing and I only started when it was receiving a lot of praise and I am so glad I did! Everything about the show is phenomenal - the storyline, the cast, the twists, the romance! It's also hilarious too and the leads blow it out the park with their acting. I've just finished the season and am so sad it's finished - I hope it wins lots of awards and is easily my fav k drama of the year if not of all time!

This drama is actually really lovely. I agree with most reviews that it's a slow one especially at the beginning (I only carried on because I loved the actress from rookie historian) but over time it really grows on you. The characters are all so unique and you start to invest in them and their stories. There's not a lot of drama but the everyday detail of it is so lovely and the humour is actually hilarious. I especially loved the last episode, so heart-warming

Beautiful story - deserves way more recognition and easily the best korean drama I've watched. Acting was super, storyline was heartbreaking and funny and overall a beautiful story about love

Epic tv show - loved the cast, the storyline, humour and romance!! Loved how the women were so progressive and not typical meek characters Laughed out loud especially at the male historians 😂😂 The romance between the two leads was so cute and she was such a fantastic lead Overall loved it!!
