I'm so far at the episode 3. Although overly dramatic plot, the things that looks unrealistic to different cultures are very realistic in our country. Stupid nonsensical social norms, stupid commentary you never need, being foreign yet having to survive in this culture they're very true. Yes, people will think they have the right to look into your bags and room because of their assumptions. People outwardly act overly close when not asked for. They'll put you on that table because of their entertainment. Having an Arabic mother from another country, gets very negative attention. She gets really overprotective (not this level), but it happens. I'm glad my father is a great person to isolate and created comfort for us. But if you're not used to culture and try to involve, you'll be pushed out. Why people so disturbingly entitled and nosy 80% of time.

It was a great mesh of japanese and American styles of crime dramas. The story reminds me of Baccano, minus the alchemists and bad westernization. The worst part of Japanese dramas, is their revisioning of west is overly outdated. This is the first time I didn't cringe over yakuza vs Russian mafia clashes. Thanks for ladybug. Brad Pitt was a great center character. The plot was rounded up pretty well from beginning to the end. For those who are distracted or too unfamiliar with japanese style, before reviewing I recommend another session to watch from start to end. I think british accents were overly done, but it's really enjoyable. Plus, Hollywood fed audiences within boring asian stereotypes for decades. Let them have their fun at western stereotyping. The neon atmosphere fit so good for Tokyo aesthetics. Gang looks were so detailed too. It was as if out of a shounen manga yet nothing looked out of place. I loved all the cameos and Sandra Bullock collecting ladybug at the end.

It was the best true crime series I've came across so far. Nothing felt over dramatised or romanticised.

I still feel like the notes might be the sole work of latit and he might have made it look like consensual. There are not much details on forensic reports in general such as fingerprints, details of tools, the analysis of the proceedings of their deaths, or anything. The production is great, it's just feels like some work was left out by the police. they mostly referenced the diaries. However, I really felt bad for the police who had to investigate this. He was so sad and frustrated. At the end, the message was clear and well put.

It was such a boring and messy documentary. I saw it several times among other true crime documentaries, so I thought it would have some quality. To me, it felt like a disrespect to Lam. From the first episode that she might be somewhere hard to inspect or somewhere only staff entered. Because, if anyone remembers the staff mentioned seeing the girl usually with the book who was trying to enter some uncommon area. The internet sleuths were the main point of the mess. They were mostly interested in the spookiness of the situation, while the investigations were trying to figure out whether she was under influence of a substance. Also in the wiki, the reports say that she didn't take her medicine for a while, considering these are antidepressants, her behavior is kind of expected. I was crept about how the sleuths started to fill the hotel for the sake of views and weird ideas. That Facebook group admin gave me a shiver, that I couldn't take it anymore. I started to fast forward... It was endless scenes of multiple people who were in the doc for the sake of excitement. I closed the Netflix and read the reports on the case. This was an awful experience to watch it.

Spoilers ahead. (rating to post here and remember not to watch it ever again) I regret ever watching it. Why is there even a remake? I've been wanting to watch this for years because the production and music seemed perfect. I feel betrayed at the end with tears in my eyes and twist in my stomach. Was it necessary to build the story to that? When I noticed that he caught those two from the window while the last names are the same, I started to panic. Because the movie opens with a birthday and 15 days ahead (Korean adult age: 19). I stayed in denial and expected the twist to be something like in Fight Club. I'm so broken-hearted. I regret watching it. Everything else was great... But I can't even give a rating. PS. I remember liking the song she was singing in the car. I DON'T EVER want to hear it now. (The Face That I Miss - Min Hae-kyung *sigh*) Ps2: I read the Count of Monte Cristo this year, at first I thought it was me relating the movie to the novel from 15 years spent in prison as innocent, trying to dig his way out and wrong wall, then goes out with money. Seeking vengeance but its toll is affecting worse. Then *ping* on the messenger, the bad guy mentions the book. The side effects of vengeance start appearing earlier. Edit:rating and PS. It was a good movie. But I will never ever watch it again. It was too much. Reaction videos helped me a bit.

It was so bad. Worse plot than ex machina which actually worked in its own context. But this was so bad. Made look professional, but the producers/writers/directors have probably no idea about quantum physics, multiverse theory, computer science, cryptography (why would a security analyst and a cryptography specialist would sit in a normal morning discuss ecc vs rsa in most layman sense? The convo was cringy. At least talk about variations, system they're running on, implementations, new library if you're literally into this comparison.), software engineering (even after explaining 150 pages of iot security system analysis of thesis or after dismantling a spaghetti code in delphi from mid 90s to fixing it... I don't remember feeling of puking. What can you view of in such a size, you can understand in working hours, and start puking? You only have two eyes, one processing brain, and time is running quite linear at that point) The philosophy was ridiculous, Katie was whole other level of ridiculous, the dude playing Messiah was another level of ridiculous. I think I watched a new form of comedy. Why putting politically controversial events like Christ on cross and Marilyn Monroe during an affair in a movie to plant the ideas of the existence of these situations withoutany other proof other than human written resources in reality? I am a believer of God myself, but this form was weird. I'm not saying those didn't happen, but not all your audiance find these as natural as they are to you. You might as well put Lord of the Rings since we're on all possiblities in multiverse. Katie again, explained Random Variables... Why would someone, who takes such pride in her scientific understanding, whom should have understood the probability theory, would give such an explanation of a high school student after hearing random variable and probability terms? She could have approached from chaos theory. If Lily is such a skilled cryptographer probably she knows about chaotic based crypto systems. Everett's interpretation(based on wavefunction collapse) can be approached from that point. The actors were dull and all looked and act alike from same neighbourhood with ex machina plot. Waste of time. Ep 1 - 2 was great. Ep 3-7, I watched out of curiousity for the plot's sake. Yet it started to become unbearable and at EP 8 I regretted watching it. Sergei and Jamie looked reasonable stereotype nerds but lol as I guessed, Lily actress is a ballerina. Short hair, poker face doesn't add nerd value.. Also being able crack Russian security barrier by spies of a government but not checking the possible surveillance cameras to get a proof of fake suicide? It wasn't Philip Dick, William Gibson, or Isaac Asimov like plot. This series had much more resources to work with. In my opinion it was disappointing.

This is an american teen drama rather than a period drama... Pop music all over the place, food and outfits are too contemporary (food colorings and pastel colors in everything??). Versailles was like a hotel with so many maids. Even some of the dances were inaccurate. There is nothing even european.... Even the government workers look like corporate workers... Forget France, have the director ever been to Europe? What was the point of this movie? Kristen Dunst was the only nice thing in the movie... And that's 2 stars.

This goes in parallel with Pike's performance in the Gone Girl and a bit of extra from the book. So the plot isn't even original. I'm not a US citizen but while you're pointing out that the government isn't doing their work, the plot skips too many legal procedures for this kind of thing to happen. If there weren't any.. Sure let's all steal from lonely elderly. Most of the people don't live on morals you know. Even for an individual to be in need of an emergency guardianship you don't continously get data from the same doctor, you don't continously get the same judge. Furthermore, not every documented lonely elderly are actually alone. they don't need to be russian mafia...(really why Russian all the time?) There are immigrants you know. What do you know about their assets, their complete background. They might be us citizens who lived outside country most of their live and now having their retirement. For someone to pull this off cleanly you can't grow out in the public without government at behind you. Not even starting with deus ex machina bond movie revivals. Movie was BS, 2 stars are for the great performances of entire cast whom are wasted on a bad replica of a bad plot.
