LJ Hathaway

Nicole Kidman, usually a brilliant actor, was awkward in this film. Her acting was horrible and the dialogue throughout the movie was terrible. The chemistry between Nicole and Zac Efron just wasn’t there. I felt like I was watching a Hallmark movie (no offense to Hallmark). I was downright bored after the first fifteen minutes and stayed that way until the end (finally) arrived. I am a Nicole Kidman fan but this was a mess of a movie.

The first couple of seasons were great, now not so much. I like “period” shows like this to be realistic, but now they are trying to make so many social statements that the show is now becoming unrealistic for the time period. So much so that it’s bordering on absurdly unrealistic. I’m losing interest.
