Honestly, this is the exact type of show I wasn't my kids to watch! Fun, heartfelt, surprising grounded (even though its a family of Heeler dogs), and very informative in a show-don't-tell way. Most episodes are of those simple moments of quick imaginary games with the parents (Playing hotel, doctor, moms & dads), other episodes are the "boring" moments such as getting takeout, going to the dump, or visiting a creek which is some of the most heartfelt moments I've ever seen on children's programming. There are just as many subtle early lessons for kids that are shown and not beat over the head (gender roles, seeing past differences, and even death). Parents ourselves can learn so much because of the way these stories are being seen from a child's emotional perspective, that the small 'nothing' moments that we as adults see every day are magic to a child. Honestly, I can't give this show enough credit for its execution, it speaks to children of all ages and especially parents of small kids without ever demeaning or belittling anyone.
