I enjoyed the movie. Paid to watch with usual low expectations; was very pleasantly surprised. Interesting characters. Unpredictable turns except the final car crash. Portrays a dark dirty New York which is what most Americans believe accurately depicts the state of the city Post Giuliani.

One of my top 5 all time movies. A must for men who had difficult relationships with their fathers. Others: “Nobody’s Fool,” “Prince of Tides,” “Midnight Cowboy,” “Road to Perdition.”

Pleasant surprise. A sweet gentle movie. Steve Coogan did a masterful job. Wish there were more of these type of movies.

Bonhoeffer proves, yet again, Angel studios swims against the current and provides good movies. I’ve not been disappointed with any of them; whereas, even after reading their 3+ star reviews I walk out of 50% of mainstream movies. I REFUSE to watch the one (1) mainstream, CGI mass casualty super hero movie made OVER, and OVER and OVER…. !

I bought and watched a couple of years ago. I grew up in the South with no experience with fundamentalist Southern churches and the movie was uncomfortable to watch. My problem. Watched it again last night with clear eyes and now appreciate Duvall’s loving creation and the protagonist’s painful but rewarding journey. Aside: he’s now dead, but John Beasley has such a lovely presence in the film and gentle expressive face.

Bought the movie some time ago was underwhelmed. Since have travelled to Poland, the Polen Museum, Birkenau and Israel. Just rewatched it. Made me appreciate it a lot. Probably inappropriate of me but Harvey Weinstein, while bad person, has been responsible for a large volume of good movies, this being one of them. Too bad he has a dark side.

Best movie since B.J. Novak’s “Revenge.”

Simply the best movie EVER. Cast of thousands, years in the making. Stop at the concession stand for a large glass of liberal tears.

Was one of the best movies of another lackluster movie year.
