Ed Nigma

**SPOILER ALERT** Every once and a while a movie comes along that isn't fun, that isn't campy, it just hurts. This is one of those movies. Simply, this movie truly deserves a 1 star and is not worth your time. A longer explanation denotes this movie as something that didn't know what it wanted to be. The beginning does provide you with promise, and the actors and the writing really make you hate the main protagonist. This is great for redemption arcs or inverted revenge plots. However, this movie does not capitalize on what it builds. Instead, it uses contrivances to force an outcome no good storyteller would consider. This evil woman, a level of despicable character that is generally unmatched in most stories, wins flawlessly. Loses nothing. Why? Because she's awesome! No clever way of understanding the situation. No redeemable qualities at all. She wins because, yeah that's what the writers wanted. Technically, she dies in the end, but she learns nothing along the way. The character in the end is the exact same as the one in the beginning. A truly disappointing ending. After watching this movie, do not expect to have enjoyed your time. Your time would be better spent staring at your ceiling for two hours, it would be less painful. Even my husband, who loves unconventional movies where women just kickass, left this movie feeling a weight of disappointment and sadness. Very rarely do I see the contract between the movie creator and the audience be breached with such disregard that it feels personal. Yet, here we are.

At best, an okay show with some good moments and only one GOOD episode. At worst, seems like fan-fiction with terrible pacing and terrible characterization. I was often bored and fatigued from being told instead of shown. Watch it if you want, isn't the worst thing ever. Not good though. And please, DO NOT have high expectations. I wish I could get those hours back.
