Hard to learn, easy to master game with crazy, ludicrous events and stories with a fully randomised world teeming with artifacts, lore, heroes, dragons, animal men and many more things. Modded dwarf fortress gets even more fantastical by adding more races, monsters, ores and weapons/ armour to the game, the most popular being Masterwork Dwarf Fortress. 10/10 would break my mayors kneecaps again for being disobedient.
