The story is a bit different, but it is very well-written so it makes up for that. I won't even start with how the writing is just so marvelous. Overall, the main plot and the series of twists after it that makes up the whole episodes were excellent. All the characters and their side stories were just my style, because all of them have their own stories, and they're not just extras or sidelines, they are actually part of the story. And all of the characters have their own character developments which makes it even more exciting. I just love the writing so much, it's the best. I love how some conflicts were resolved not by emotional scenes, but naturally, like the feud between the sisters when Dal-mi (Suzy) realized how similar her father's and Injae's (Kang Ha-na, her sister) visions are. It's just so refreshing not to always have a confrontation scene to resolve most of the conflicts.
If you think about it, Nam Do-san (Nam Joo Hyuk) is the actual second lead here. Han Ji-pyeong's character is so main lead material, and his set-up is very familiar. Nam Do-san wasn't even shown in the first episode, with nothing but a glimpse. It made me unsure at first, but I really did not regret watching through it. I also have to praise Nam Joo Hyuk's acting here as Nam Do-san, I just really fell in love. He made the character blossom to life. His acting is really amazing and it really stands out.
If you're looking for a well-written drama, story, that takes all the characters into account - not saying this is the only drama that does that, but I just love how they executed it here - and with the mix of comedy and romance, if you want to cry even in from the first episode, then watch this drama. Just the script it so amazing, backed up by amazing actors and skillful execution, nothing could really go wrong.
They made a masterpiece right here.
