People complain that Jim dear and Darling are a bi racial couple and it isn't 'realistic' enough buuuuut those are the same people saying that The Lion King was too realistic - absolutely no winning with some people. Bi racial couple is only distracting if you let it be so, they aren't even the main focus of the film and yes while it may have been unrealistic for the time period - it's a kid's movie and I doubt the majority (of kids) will know that or even care. A copy and paste remake is not what we want anyway, can anyone truly say The Lion King 2019 was brill? No, because it copied the original to every detail but somehow the original did it better. As some have said, Disney is trying to lead the way forward, not backwards, so I can see why they implemented the bi racial couple. Do bare in mind, before commenting that a bi racial couple is unrealistic, you are watching about a movie about talking dogs. Main point is - cute puppers.

I'm actually surprised at how disappointing that was, I adore the original and I fully expected to love the live action but... the film fell short on so many things due to the limitation of the animation style. The emotion is there in the voice acting but it just doesn't match up on the scene itself as the lions are made to look realistic in an extremely unrealistic situation. It really brings out those uncanny valley vibes that leave a bad taste in my mouth. Rather than the creativity and the movement and excitement in the songs for the original, we're presented with lions that can only sing them while running or walking around as they're held back by their realistic style. I think the creators were a little bit confused when they made this, had the lions been given a more Aslan like style it would have allowed them to actually express the emotion that was coming out of their mouths rather than just looking like a photo of a lion with its jaw moving up and down. They had to sacrifice some of the originals strongest scenes (Such as Mufasa in the clouds) because it simply wasn't possible with their style which somehow made the film longer than the original, but feel so much shorter.
