Crash Test World is a perfect vehicle for Kari Byron, an appropriately self-proclaimed "Curiosity Communicator". The series gets its name from Kari's memoir "Crash Test Girl" and captures Kari's signature spirit as she travels around the world from Israel to Qatar to New York in search of solutions to the world's most challenging issues. What makes this show unique is that in addition to being a 22-minute show it's divided into classroom-ready ~5 minute segments that are connected by a theme. Most importantly it's entertaining and full of hope - and that's thanks to its host Kari Byron (yes, that Kari of MythBusters fame).

I go to a Star Wars movie for a couple of hours of entertaining distraction. Rise of Skywalker did that for me and from the applause and cheers the full theatre I sat in Friday night. All the internet noise around this movie and others in the series - from both "sides" - is nothing more than trolling clickbait latching on to trending hashtags. Want to be transported to a cool place for a few hours? Go see Rise of Skywalker. Great deal for under $20.

A fast three hours because of a thoroughly satisfying pulling together of many threads bundled with a lot of self-deprecating humor. A long good goodbye to heroes lost, with a new (and more diverse) set of heroes waiting in the billion-dollar wings.

Our family caught the opening night showing on Thursday and loved it. The sold out audience stayed until the very last after the credits scene (despite dipping into midnight). The first half of the film sets up an incredibly satisfying second half that gets you counting the minutes until Avengers: End Game. And then there is Goose... best movie cat ever. Perfect family outing for #InternationalWomensDay.

I heard about this movie - and the history of The Green Book - in an episode of the 99% Invisible podcast. My wife and I loved the film - the led by two superb performances by Mahershala Ali (also a regular on House of Cards) and Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings, History of Violence). I hope that this movie encourages viewers to further research the music of Don Shirley and the history that resulted in the creation of The Green Book.

This movie gets better and better with repeated viewing. The market action sequence is as good as anything in Saving Private Ryan and would be an awesome VR experience. Love how Rogue One explains the Death Star flaw. The performances across the board are stellar - Jin's father in particular really captures the anguish of sacrificing family for a higher purpose. And while the film is a long way from gender diversity (despite an amazing female lead), Rogue One demonstrates how much diversity - in this case ethnic - brings to the table both in storytelling and emotional impact. Awesome movie.

The movie and book ultimately suffer from a non-ending ending (almost like the author ran out of ideas and just stopped writing), and the book isn't terribly well written. The movie is thumbs up, however, because of how some really cool ideas are presented before the non-ending ending. The style and look of the film plus solid performances exceed the book in form and content.
