People of the Earth. This show is a GEM! Mkay. First of all. Please know that anyone who says they read this book...couldn't possibly have because this show is a parody of all books titled in this manner. This is a dark comedy. COMEDY. So be forewarned, because it is a VERY GOOD murder mystery. Just when you forget it's meant to be a comedy, something absolutely ridiculous happens and you are reminded. There is GOLD here, matey! Mkay. But you have to pay attention. From the three books the protagonist has written, hilariously titled, "You can be an artist," "You Too Can Be an Artist," and, "You Also can be an Artist" -- how friggin' funny is THAT -- to the handyman who, the entire show, serves absolutely no purpose in life or the story except to be there, day after day after day, fixing the mailbox. The jokes are so subtle and yet so on point. They're in the details, right down to the book the protagonist reads every day called, "The Woman Across the Lake." Aside from good writing and witticism in the jokes, there is good acting here as well and you will be hooked from Episode 1. I wish I could tell you what happens in the last two episodes, but there are no spoilers here, sirs and madams. What I CAN tell you is that -- your mind will be blown. I have a new respect for Kristen Bell.

I am not a person who enjoys fantasy. I only ever watched Chronicles of Narnia because one of my children IS extremely fantastically minded (and I mean, like, truly comprehends the ENTIRE Dune geneology and their purpose on each planet). So please believe me when I tell you that this show is really good. I am thrown off, but in a pleasant way, by the Lemony Snicket Series of Unfortunate Events similar soundtrack. It's quirky. It's a neat idea and one I have never seen before. When I watch it, I kind of want to join it and explore these keys myself. Would I like to see inside my own head? Uh....ya. I would. I have seen some reviews on the acting. I have seen a few places where the actors might be looking for that motivation. I don't care. It's good, especially for a fantastical show with what is probably all green screen going on behind them. Is the CGI great? A little Casper like, if you know what I mean. Nobody said it was big budget. Still, though... even with the sometimes questionable CGI, and the little awkwardness of the actors (mostly the young ones), and the bizarre soundtrack that was chosen -- it really does have an endearing quirkiness about it. I pretty much binged Season 1. And I imagine I will hope for a Season 2. The "What if" factor really works for me. They could have made the entire episode just these recovering people who find all these keys with no antagonist, and I would have watched them just explore what all the keys do. Give it a watch. Try not to be too critical. It's worlds better than Will Smith's Bright, and a step down from Stranger Things. You'll enjoy it.

I have read a ton of reviews on this show, mostly good. Adorable how so many people go so far in-depth to analyze the show. It's simple. Joe is a narcissistic psycho. A very entertaining one. An extremely well-written one. And we all watch this show for the same reason that expose's on serial killers are made and watched, or Making a Murder on Netflix was such a hit....even though it's fictional (we think, anyway -- all art is based on something) we get to be inside the mind of a psycho. I'm not sure what that says about us. But there it is.

Absolutely loved it. Truly did not expect to. I mean, how many times can you re-tell the story of Dracula? Claes Bang -- who are you sir? How did I miss you? OMG. Witty writing, good character chemistry, easy flow, nice poppy parts, enough gore, minimal but enough sensuality (and I mean from actual physical sex to the passion of looking at the sun). The Nun, Dolly Wells -- Immediately loved her! I want more.
