This is my first ever movie review, and I'm only writing it so i can stop others from wasting 90 precious minutes of their lives. If you want, you can just re-watch a few episodes of friends, or even the last episode of game of thrones (trust me, that would still be more bearable than this).
So many gaps in the movie that it makes you question your own self for making the (stupid) decision to watch it. It's almost like the writers were extremely bored and they decided to write a story which had quite an interesting start, only to get zoned out right in the middle, and then by the end, being too tired of taking up the work that they abruptly end it without looking at the script that they started with in the first place.
I'd like to highlight some of the most stupid things about the movie (Spoiler alert for those who haven't watched it yet):
1. How come no one in the movie talks about the father's death? Was the killer drunk? was he actually having a cardiac arrest? was he arrested later? was it an accident? was it intentional? why did no one take any legal action? (Nothing. We got nothing.)
2. What was the relevance of showing that Logan had only one contact lens after he came back from his run? (or maybe the writers had something in mind but somehow ended up forgetting it)
3. What was the relevance of Martha as a character? was she only a part of the movie to be a creep with alzheimer's?
With her bizarre behaviour, she has us all believing that she was a psychopath, but truly, there was no relevance of her existence in the entire plot.
4. what was the deal with Chris? why was he bizarrely interested in the mother since the very beginning? why did nobody check on him when he was looking at the house? how come he agreed upon staying for the night at a stranger's house (Technically, Naomi and Chris only met thrice and talked for like 2 minutes each time, so they barely knew each other)?
He suddenly disappears after going down the basement (Naomi and Logan didn't even bother to check if he was still there like meh, he must have left, lets make mac and cheese with some hot dogs).
He had us suspecting him of being the intruder only to have him dead in the end. Great, we know now that he wasn't the intruder, but then, who was it?
5. what was the whole deal with that weird realtor who keeps creeping Logan out every time they meet? What was the whole point?
6. what was the relevance of scene where Logan runs into his mom while she's in the shower? seriously, the point?
7. how come the broken stairs mysteriously heals on its own in the subsequent scenes?
8. how come not even once Logan mentioned to his mom about his weird meeting with Martha past midnight where she accused them of being in her land?
9. how come Logan was so okay with the whole deal of losing his phone. (I'd get crazy angry if I see that my phone's gone missing.)
Also, what was the whole point of him being a runner and not being able to use it to protect himself?
10. lastly, who was the killer? why did no one give any backstory? why would he break Naomi's fingers? why did he kill everyone? why was his face not once revealed in the movie?
Lastly, how come nothing in the movie made any sense at all?
Very honestly, the best part about this movie is reading all the reviews. At least, I'm not the only one who feels this way about this movie.
This movie, without a doubt, was the worst movie, EVER.
