I just don’t get the hype. Well written, however it took too long to get to the main events and there seemed to be a lot of parts that were unnecessary. Some of the characters could have been more useful. Parts of it hit you over the head with the same info, and I don’t think the word mushroom or fungus has been used this many times in the history of fiction. Also, why was it set in Mexico? How does the title relate to the story? This was the first fiction book I was able to read in a while and sadly very disappointed.
