I know the author, Susan Houck Blanchard, and when she shared that she was writing a children’s book (inspired by her grandson) I was truly excited because I know that Sue is such a caring and creative person. I just finished reading the book and loved the overall message! The illustrations were wonderful too! David showed us that even though we may be scared in a new situation we all can go past that fear and face any challenge head on! Although David thought that he needed a costume to be brave he found courage, determination, and fearlessness were within him that whole time. Sammy Seagull was a hero too for getting help! Sometimes we can't fix something but we reach out to others for assistance. How wonderful are the lessons that we learn from and share with our children and grandchildren! I purchased this book for my grandchildren and look forward to reading it to them at bedtime when I babysit this weekend!
