Going to separate this review in parts to accurately give an opinion.
Gameplay: Dragonflights gameplay is standard WoW MMO gameplay. It's the most polished feeling game you'll get in today's gaming world. People tend to forget how bad it feels to play an unpolished triple A game. There's unbalances but it's an MMO. All MMO's are unbalanced.
Graphics: Graphically the game is stunning and it doesn't require a top of the line PC to play. That's all there really is to say about that.
World and Character design: The characters, creatures and world design in this expansion are amazing, but what frustrates me the most with WoW is the lack of character creation choices and the choices all around. You look around the universe and there's so many amazing and interesting races, but the only ones you get to play as are these Anthropomorphic Dragons. I don't hate their design, but why couldn't I just play as a Dragon? The story line for the Dracthyr is okay, but I'll talk about that later. There are so many missed opportunities when it comes to character creation in this game that leaves me annoyed. There were the Naga which would of been cool. There's the fact that they REFUSE to let us have sliders of any kind. We don't need Dark Souls style customization, but something like FFXIV would be much better. I'm sure Furries love the anthro Dragon Dracthyr, but let me play as a real Dragon, sheesh.
Story\Writing: The Writing for Dragonflight is a bit frustrating, cause there are amazing concepts and certain plot lines that are really interesting then others that just fall flat completely. Blizzard hasn't been able to make a convincing story since Wrath. I wish they would understand that not every adventure has to be world saving either. I know we're way beyond the point of having classic DnD style adventures, but playing games like Dark and Darker, or even Souls Games where the story is literally, "You are this, you have to go through this dungeon and defeat this, here's some lore about everything, have fun." is good enough. Again, WoW is way beyond that point now. I like fleshing out the world we're in and WoW gives you a lot of that, it's just more than half of it isn't interesting.
With all that being said, my two main gripes are Writing and Character design and for that the game gets a 3.5 out of 5, but this review doesn't allow for that.
