How is it appropriate or helpful to publically punish a panel member for expressing an honestly-held view that turns out to be misinformed, especially when that person learns from the situation and apologizes for their statement. Even if that person was someone other than a much-beloved and honorable icon of the communication industry, would still be mean-spirited and indefensible.
