There is a fine line between banter and bullying. Yesterday Piers Morgan's unprompted comments on both Alex Berisford and Andy Peters were very nasty and unwarrented.
The added background of people laughing and making faces, usually uncomfortably, puts a question mark over whether you are watching unsavoury office politics. Surely if the 'biggest star' of the programme repeatedly makes comments about how "fake, shallow, hated and talentless" you are or tells you "you are only the weatherman" in front of millions of viewers, whilst you are limited in your ability to defend yourself, and your colleagues guffaw in the background - it's bullying on a grand scale.
This has been going on for many months. In Alex's case, from before he went on Strictly (or Dancing on Ice). I believe its been the same for Andy.
Finally.. the fact that Piers is a privileged middle aged white man in power and they are 2 black men without it will not be missed by some members of the audience!
