I consider myself harsh of new releases, typically not EVER buying a game until it's at least 30% off but, with the controversy around one of my most anticipated titles of the year I was excited to see what it was all about! Got the game when it first came out; despite all the suspicious amount of 1 star user reviews. TLDR: Loved the game; 8/10! I think the storyline is great but, as is usually the case with sequels, not as amazing as the first. I think this is bound to be the case cause of how amazing and new the narrative was. The connections we've already built during the experience of the first game are present in the sequel and are more exposed to the dark/dangerous post apocalyptic setting in ways we havent experienced in the past. The experience is cinematic; just like the first so, don't expect the game to be a run n' gun shooter, that's not what either of the two titles have been about. I think the base game itself is a solid 8/10. Room for growth if they choose to do DLC (which every company inevitably does). As the game continues to reach its full potential with multiplayer it will easily be a 10/10. The online for Last of Us was easily my favourite on PS3, and perhaps PS4. I would recommend the game full price to true fans of the franchise. Honestly, 80$ for any game is crazy especially with games likely to go on sale as the new consoles get closer to release. But, I would urge you not to believe the 1 star reviews, a lot of them seem disingenuous. This game couldnt possibly be considered worse than a 6/10 to the most detail-oriented critic. ***Played on Hard Difficulty***
