a fun and silly movie that fully embraces the absurdity of the premise.
a young film student is given the chance to show his work to a producer whose studio is only weeks away from bankruptcy...the producer sees this as an opportunity to file for big losses by taking on the film... once the film within the film starts it retains that narrative to great effect and the visual effects are great homages to the cheesy effects of the 50's sci fi movies... not giving anything away here...not a perfect movie but i personally liked it and own the dvd...the disk does have an intermittent commentary track with the director and George Takei which is interesting...and reveals that the name for the movie originated from Orson Welles
