An exciting premise that ultimately just fails to ignite. Anyone of an age where Romancing The Stone was a big hit will be so unimpressed that it could put you off both lead actors. Lack of chemistry, slow flow and a lack of consistent laughs really let down what on paper looks brilliant. Dissapointed is the word I'd use.

This is the kind of film that critics and snobs love but mere film lovers just roll their eyes at. Inception had the same effect I believe? Sometimes trying too much shows. Look how intelligent we are etc etc Looks great, decent leads, action non stop but still seems to drag and be confusing at the same time.

You've probably seen worse..... Over acting, bad script, predictable, a few laughs that raise it above 1 star. Netflix really do just throw sh** at the wall and see what sticks these days and are getting worse. Gone are the days when you looked forward to a netflix release knowing it'll be decent.

The film is a pale imitation of Falling Down but nowhere near as good or memorable. Yes Crowe is still a decent actor and eases into unhinged pshyco with ease but by the end of the film so much has happened to him that you'd think he's the terminator! What starts off as a possible real life situation quickly turns into 'wouldn't happen' territory plus add to that a female lead character that at no point seems to take the obvious way out only adds to my disbelief of what's going on. Crowe deserves better IMO. He's dialled this in and still easily walks away with being the only decent thing in it. Could of been 2 stars on another day

Tarantino esque for sure but certainly better than the over critical pro reviewers would have you believe. Not every single film can be a genuine great..... but they can be stepping stones for making future films that are remembered and better with each one made. I've seen far far inferior films in this year ( especially on Netflix )

How anyone can put up with the wrong missy character in the first place is the most amazing thing in this movie! You can say good over acting if you want but would anybody in their right mind actually put up with her for so long to bother finding out anything else about her. Some good laughs along the way for sure but hardly a watch again movie. We'd all dump her for the other missy everyday of the week.

With a strong cast, you'd be forgiven that this is gonna be a top notch thriller.... Instead it's an exceptable pass of a film that delivers but misses out on the high end of the genre. There's always something not quite hitting the mark in this film - whether it's the brother / sister angle or the totally pointless dad / daughter slant, the film simply needs a little trim here and a little fat added there to move up a star or two in the ratings. Watchable though

As guilty pleasures go, After The Sunset is right up there with the best. Glorious location, Salma at her beautiful best, Pierce as his charming self and a plot that is easy to follow. Heist, romance and part comedy, this is an old school romp in the vein of Romancing The Stone. Unfortunately this film seems to have fallen down the back of the sofa which is a shame. If you're fed up with serious, dark and critic led art movies then you could do a lot worse than sit back and enjoy this film.
