SPOILERS > very mild, but for Capt. America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming & Avengers: Infinity War Loved the new take on this iconic hero, as Tom Holland is a versatile actor that can show comedy and the grit and emotion of being a young superhero and how relatable it is to also be an Avengers fan. The new diverse cast around him was refreshing and Zendaya's MJ is very different from the originals but still great. As the first was sweet, soft, the second daring, bold and now Z’s is a blunt, realistic. I like how they introduced him in a very creative way from the first movies. Where with those ones we see them as normal teens before figuring out their powers, in this we skip that part and jump right into seeing his youthful, heroic personality and powerful abilities as he decides whether to stay local or go big with the Avengers. (Later he does this and is an official Avenger). Also showing how he vlogs the experience, very Gen Z, lmao. It definitely was the perfect way to bring back this character for a new generation and keep the vibe and nostalgia for old ones. A perfect balance of new and old.

I liked the idea of the movie, it was very clear. My favourite character was Athena, though I wish she’d had a variety of characters to work with. I personally like movies that feel loud, with a blend of people to drive the plot and make it more fun. It has a lot of potential, any scene with Athena is awesome, especially the action ones. There were some funny moments too. Her actor’s really talented and scene-commanding for her age in this movie. Watched it twice a few years ago but just rewatched it now. The ending was great and also drives the message of the film’s hope for a future. Anyway, my points were more to build up the entertainment and perspectives by adding more main characters with Casey’s creativity, brilliance, hope and determination in varying ways. But the movie nailed the special effects and idea of a better future.

SPOILERS -> This is more for the general series and Supernova Super nice covers are what pulled me into the series in the first place. I'm a Lunar Chronicles fan, I think I saw Cinder on the back of Renegades and decided to try it out. This wasn't the way I expected the suspense of certain reveals to be done. It was underwhelming after the hype of what these alter ego reveals could mean. It ended weirdly. Nova is just happily a Renegade after disagreeing with them the whole time? I think it would've been cool to see her still be friends with her squad and occasionally team up with them, but continue to do her own thing independently. Her and this series had some potential. It never specifies their plan after and there's a whole parade again instead, which I guess ties in to the beginning of the series with the parade in book 1. I'm guessing they're improving the Renegades to try more of Nova's ideas, hopefully?

I found Cath to be very unlikable the only character I liked was Jest, oof love him, and his entrance was phenomenal, I loved it. I already knew about the whole Queen of Hearts thing so knew this wouldn't end well. But the summary was really interesting, had to read. Still sad for Jest though he didn't even get to save his kingdom as they'd planned. Definitely the most interesting and compelling character.
