Started off quite well, first two episodes had me very interested, but it quickly went downhill once I realised how ridiculous the storyline was. Some of the make up was terrible, some very one dimensional and pretty annoying characters and an awful lot of overly long dialogues, resulting in the fast forward button being hit on more than one occasion. I was a huge fan of Hill House and Bly Manor, but this....... well let's just say I couldn't get to the end quick enough, simply because I just wanted it to end.

I'm enjoying it, it's exciting and keeps you wanting to see the next episode, but some of the characters are like something out of a comic or cartoon, and I'm sorry but Kate Mulvanys English accent is awful!

I tried and failed, to watch Golden Compass, because of it's painfully slow storyline. This BBC adaptation is no better. The characters are forgetful, Lyra especially, I just find annoying. It just doesn't hold my attention. There's no suspense or excitement, just misery, depression and total lack of real action!
