A good effort from the director. But could have been better as the screenplay meanders aimlessly in the second half. The opening scenes were breathtaking and they do set the tone for the rest of the film. I was disappointed that the murder scene failed to create much of an emotional impact. Staines' backstory could have been covered in sufficient detail though. The film has a documentary style narration towards the end, which is a major letdown. Overall, deserves a watch for Staines' selfless service to the ostracised lepers of Orissa.
