A good ghost story comes with ample reasoning to gain the audience's trust in the storytelling and then shocks them with the paranormal. Nothing of which can be found in the Nun. The narration is mostly fable-like with jump scares supported by Dolby surprises. The spookiness falls flat when the logic goes galavanting around in Romania, while individuals are aimlessly walking around and reading books on the occult, enjoying wine and dining in extremely dingy corners of a popularly haunted abbey. Despite ample sightings, none of them feels the slightest need to stay together when the going gets tough for the group. Yet another horror movie fails to impress while carrying good potential with an interesting back story.
