What they should have done was use 7 or 8 participants and dive into their lives throughout the movie while building suspense with various interactions within the circle letting the viewiers decide whose story they feel is strong enough to be worth continuing living then add your little plot twist or whatever at the end. 50 people though is way too many to invest into within an hour an half therefore leaving a very bland and boring movie.
