SPOILERS :
(If you want my quicker opinion, this was crap, visually great, storylineโฆa no)
Pros
1 star - visually stunning, anything filmed in Italy automatically is impressive
2 stars - Definitely had me tense, especially towards the end during the police chase. I canโt fault it there, was definitely wondering what would happen next.
CONS:
* Firstly, there is absolutely no reason why 80% of their dialogue is just them hooting and hollering very loudly down the streets, like that was overstimulating esp when theyโre speaking over each other it just becomes very chaotic and hard to follow
* My next point, listen yes itโs sad that her previous background and the pressure she felt growing up to โbe the bestโ, led her to those moments where she essentially lost all common sense trying to โlive for the momentโ. HOWEVER, if youโre not going to show us moments of that like a few flashbacks at least wouldโve helped us understand her decisions further, without them, she just comes across as incredibly dense.
* The piano sceneโฆyeah I had secondhand embarrassment cos wtf lmao.
* Again, she came off incredibly dense because us not seeing how hard her training was and the pressure she felt growing made it increasingly hard to sympathise with her.
* With that said, your man is LITERALLY telling you โdonโt come with meโ and because youโve fell in love (lust actually letโs be so real) with this guy, heโd tell her to judge of a bridge and sheโd still do it. Incredibly stubborn, hard to watch and quite naive. Again visual context of why sheโs like that wouldโve helped piece everything together, and without it, any sympathy we couldโve had for was non-existent.
* Itโs rare that a woman would openly put herself in these situations, and I donโt entirely appreciate that this small percentage is being represented, when truly there were many other ways this couldโve been done.
