A solid C-
Although the premise of this book very interesting, I was disappointed.
Readable but, I felt, really simplistic….
EVERY character is a trope who walked out of central casting: The Noble Nobleman (an oxymoron if ever there was one) The Haughty Ballerina; The Persnickety French Chef. Etc….
They all belong on a 1938 film poster.
I wouldn’t have disliked the book so much if it weren’t for the hype and the fact that so many people Loved it.
Actually, a decent beach read, but in the off season, save yourself.
