Again, how this review can be considered profane is beyond me. What kind of nonsense is that. This movie was terrible. Kinda stoop id and slow… yep… stoop id and slow.

Anyone who gives this movie above a 1 star has a vested financial interest in its success. This was basically just a mess of a movie. All over the place plot with nonsense scenes and situations. There were some funny scenes but at its core, it just had no depth, logic or meaning other than Barbie v. Ken. Let’s present a fake world where either men rule and women are puppets or women rule and men are puppets. Just silly…

The premise for the show is solid, but the execution is flawed. The elimination process makes little sense because "capos" are basically set up to be eliminated. This is less a cooking competition and more a leadership skills competition with the competitors, who are basically disgruntled employees, firing the boss. None of the competitors are likeable. In fact, I have never watched a Food Network show with such a dislikable group of competitors. The judges are really only there to serve as executioners, setting up competitors for failure. The setting is beautiful; the Tuscany theme is fantastic. The show itself stinks worse than the 1,100 year old dairy cheese cellar.

Directing is pretty bad. Props are low budget. But the sets are good. The acting is okay. The stories are hit or miss; they’re good for campfire spooky time because most defy logic in terms of human behavior. But they are fun to watch for the most part and a good Saturday pastime. I hope there’s a reboot with better directing this time.

Michael Crichton would be appalled. He wrote Jurassic Park with such a level of intelligence that has yet to be duplicated on film but once. I feel I have to go back and re-watch Jurassic Park (the first one) to wash to stink of this one off of me. Ugh…

The camera shots are foolish. The intent is to be ominous but it comes off juvenile and looks like a high school production. Lost interest in the first 30 minutes.

Poor writing with a definite misogynistic point of view. All the female characters are either weak, mean girls, or simple minded. The film puts forth that females are only strong by using sexuality. The horrible male bully gets his payback by getting his knee capped and a rub to the groin, but the mean female friend dies... What?!!! Unnecessary breast scenes... This movie is just No.

This long drawn out film is weighed down by silly dialogue, unrealistic scenarios, and over the top music score. The protagonist is the typical helpless female of the 1960's. The antagonist is portrayed by James Caan, the only good acting in the film up until his final scene (which was so phony, it was laugh out loud), but is held back by a weak script and even weaker set. The storyline hints at an inappropriate relationship between the protagonist and her son. The ending makes no sense at all; the blood on the antagonist's eyes looks like he smeared chocolate on his face. This ain't no Hitchcock...

A mixed bag of good actors, bad actors, good writing, bad writing, good cinematography, and bad cinematography. I just don't know how I feel about this movie. Half the time I was watching, half the time I was rolling my eyes and saying, "Stupid." I would give it one star, but that wouldn't be fair as some parts were pretty good. I'm torn... The ending was funny; sometimes you need a good shovel to the face.
