*spoilers ahead* I don’t think this was a philosophical movie about the process of aging—not at all. It was more like predictive programming about the medical tyranny of drug companies using unsuspecting test subjects to try out new products and believing their actions are justified. The unwitting test subjects (72 groups of them), who have various physical or mental disabilities, are lured to a remote vacation spot under false pretenses, unknowingly given a drink with a special drug designed just for them based on their medical history, and then secretly filmed to monitor results. Everybody dies. Now here comes group 73, and after drinking their drinks are dropped off at the same beach that causes people to age rapidly (like 50 years in a day rapidly although how or why is never explained), and all to test new drug “therapies”. Interesting timing since the Covid vaccine is currently being “tested” on human subjects, without any real trials, but I digress.
The acting is not great (except Rufus Sewell, who is excellent as always) the casting is confusing, and the plot is never quite coherent.
Meh.
