So I was pumped for this show, especially upon learning that the first episode was celebrating tacos (Iโm kind of a fanatic). However after watching it, Iโm done with this series. Iโm 32 and have never in my life seen such an exploitative desecration of one of the worldโs greatest dishes. Not only did this show completely and utterly insult 22 chefs that took the challenge seriously and created amazing final products, it simultaneously proved that it was created solely for ratings, and not the divinity of culinary arts. Iโve seen better food critiquing in the high school lunch line. I hope they take their spray-painted crickets to the dumpster behind the nearest Taco Bell where they belong, so they can watch the alley cats show them which garbage is better. I sincerely feel bad for the great chefs that competed to create actual food, any of which who would have been a better option for winner. I only hope that whoever influenced the final decision in the episode honoring Mexicoโs greatest contribution to the culinary experience, is forced to suffer a taco-less eternity in whichever afterlife allows them in. What an absolute shame.
