The show may not be accurate with some lore but then the PJ trilogy was not exactly accurate as well. I have read Tolkien's works including The Silmarillion and UT. There are a couple of things that bug me about both this series and the PJ films but I put my knowledge aside and just enjoy what both have created. The scenery is breathtaking. I got the impression the series is aimed at casual viewers which made me appreciate the little Easter Eggs the creators sprinkled throughout the first episode. I was surprised to find that I really like the Harfoots, Disa and Durin, and Arondir. My 12yo son really loved the show especially the Dwarven kingdom. We are looking forward to watching more episodes. I'll end here with one more thing. People have been very unkind regarding this show. To each other and to the cast and creators of Rings of Power. If you are really a Tolkien fan, remember his views on how we should treat each other.
