I purchased this book at the Institute of American Indian Arts in New Mexico. It gives a detailed account of the suppression of native Americans throughout this country's history, and our attempts to erase their heritage to force them to Assimilate. It show how Native American tribes came together at Standing Rock and began a dialog that will continue and strengthen a social justice movement that is long overdue. This is a powerful work that is very much worth reading.It gives many insights into the history of Native Americans , how it affects them today. and how the dialog started at Standing Rock may begin the healing process.
