I know it has been said enough that the movie falls flat from the book and it may deeply. I loved Artemis Fowl when I was a kid but I haven't read the books in probably 15 years so I couldn't remember much of them anyways. So I decided to watch the movie to hope it refreshed my memory of the books I loved so much. It didn't and I felt like it didn't convey anything that I remember from the books. That being said let's give an honest review of the movie. LOST. That is the one word I can say about this movie. The character development disappeared like there were several scenes cut out. One scene in particular bugged me the most and it was the interaction Artemis had with Holly and he takes off his glasses (which would allow her to have mind control) and says can I trust you? Trust her? Why? Where was the build up enough that you could even ask this seemingly enemy character such a question? I was again UTTERLY LOST. There was so much not said in this movie that bugged me. It was hard to connect emotionally with all the characters and we were told the characters traits rather than shown. It was a strange telling of this story.
