Simply stated, this is the best wrestling show on television today. The wide variety of wrestlers on their roster allows for a diverse showcase of different wrestling styles to be featured. The commentary team of Jim Ross, Tony Schiovanne, and Excalibur give the presentation a sporting event-type feel. In poring over the negative reviews, I found none of them to have any substance and found them to either be WWE fans who are upset that a new promotion is regarded so favorably or “traditionalists” who parrot Jim Cornette’s talking points because they need to feel “edgy”. Main event players like Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and Kenny Omega have held down the action at the top of the card while newcomers in MJF, Darby Allin, and Britt Baker show that the future is bright for the company.

Undertow was Tool's first official full-length release (and last release with original bassist Paul D'Amour.) The group had started to transition from the early 90's alt-metal sound found on their inaugural EP Opiate to the blistering deep layers that were perfected on the ÆNIMA album. While the song "Sober" remains the standout single from this album, the group also released a controversial video for the song "Prison Sex" (which was ultimately barred from commercial television due to its portrayal of child abuse) while enterprising DJs spun tracks like "Crawl Away" and "Intolerance" on local radio stations. The band has since grown into a prog-rock oriented group, so this selection stands out in contrast to their modern sound, but anyone who enjoys 90's alt-metal (and wants to hear one of the best at it) would do well to pick up this album.
