A discussion of American culture and the racism within, film tropes, and how one responds to oppression dealt with through a comedy/ satire/ rom com. Gotta say I loved it for its deft handling of some very painful truths. If you aren’t familiar with the concept of the film trope magical negro you should probably drive a green mile with a flower rather than write a review of this film. And the fact you would offer an opinion on the film speaks to a certain confidence you share with one of the characters.
