So, as far as new ideas there are some pros - but mostly cons. The weapons that you can find throughout the game are in DMZ fashion. Most of the weapons you find in the orange cases are 5 slot - maxed out. It sort of takes away from the feeling you get from earning or finding something great. For me it is a miss because the levels are literally loaded with the best of the best. I found myself wondering which to keep or swap because in the end they were all so maxed out and gangster that the result was the same regardless of the ones you choose… It almost felt like it didn’t matter at all. Unless you found a sniper… The sniper rifles you find on the campaigns are mostly super flawed. The ones with special scopes (infrared) were unusable because you literally can’t see the crosshairs. It was a guess every time you pulled the trigger. I missed several shots because it was impossible to see if I was on target. I fired several shots and it alerted them of my presence and blue the whole moment. The campaign story never really pulls you in. It’s sort of full speed to the end and there’s not really any character development. Maybe they thought “oh, well they already know the characters and that will sustain this rehashed version of the older installments…” Nope, not even close. The ending was unexpected in that - next thing you know the credits are rolling. I was taken aback by how fast it races to the end. The next thought has a little bit of a spoiler so skip if you do not want to know what happens towards the end ———————————————————— **Slight spoiler** A main character gets axed and there was a moment of “ohhh, nooo” but then it’s sort of like hmmm - feeling a little indifferent… ———————————————————— Was it worth the extra cash for early access? Probably not. It could have been so much better but it feels like the franchise isn’t putting much effort into the campaigns anymore. Which is a shame because I am one that actually cares about campaigns. We’ve had some cool COD game campaigns with WaW, the OG MW from back in the day. I even like the campaign for AW MW2-2019 was also cool. I like WWII as well. This year feels disappointing. It was still fun - just short and underwhelming from a story perspective. Hopefully this isn’t the end of the campaigns, but we will see.

So first off… I am a massive Periphery fan. I gave the album 3 stars for its in-cohesiveness. Lackluster melodies and uninteresting content. It has its moments in several songs but it never quite gets you to the finish line. It felt like there was not a lot of direction. Lyrically it felt like fragmented ideas made to work. I much prefer the more melodic nature lyrically in the other albums. This was a metal album with your typical metal melodies. The guitars were middle of the road as far as what the band is capable of. Musically it just didn’t do it for me. I didn’t mind the jazzy stuff. It was sort of what you would expect at the end of a song or two but it goes on for too long. You start to feel you’re in a dream waiting in an elevator or empty jazz club. Mix-wise I was disappointed. Again, I’m a massive fan. Also love Nolly, but this album has no edge to it. Everything is so glued that no one’s personal ability is showcased. It lacks the punch you generally get in a Periphery album. The guitars blend together to the point of being uninteresting. I loved the material he used from the GGD videos. Probably the best guitar work on the whole album were lifted from Mishas GGD videos. Which leads me to believe Misha’s interest just isn’t where it use to be. The solos were good, but the actual rhythms lacked what the band is known for. Overall I don’t think any of these will go on my playlist. If you’re a fan of the older stuff don’t expect anything in that realm (aside from the GGD Lifted riffs) This is my perspective. I listen to a lot of music and periphery has been the top band on my playlists. This one missed me. Not to say you can’t enjoy it. Just felt like the bar was lowered as far as interesting content. Hopefully the next will be better. Worth a listen, but not anything that’s worth writing home about.

I purchased this game at its early release. I have to say - I’ve never been burned this bad. Part of what I loved about BF games was the super fun and full experience you get with The campaign. Also, the campaign is usually a way to get a feel for the new systems and mechanics. Well, that wasn’t possible. Why? Because it’s only multiplayer. Yup, just like COD SO4 What a miserable idea. Sure, there are plenty of folks out there that only do multiplayer, but I’m not one of them. I feel completely isolated from the studios interests and I’m not alone. I love a good story and especially when they’re war stories. When I realized it was only multiplayer I tried to find a way to like it. I just couldn’t. Weapons were broken, couldn’t hit anyone without a sniper rifle, and Even they sucked. Massive maps forcing you to run for 5 min before dying of sniper fire. I wish I could get my 100$ back. I have absolutely looked forward to and loved all of their other offerings. However, after this one, I feel like I’m done. Maybe they can have one more shot but I won’t buy another game without reading reviews first. So it was a nasty learning experience.

This movie is an absolute must see. IMDB is ridiculous, and basically not worthy to rate movies. Seriously, this is one of the best movies I saw in 2018 When it came out I overlooked it to watch other movies that weren’t about submarines. It’s not that I don’t like submarine movies it’s just difficult for me to look at them as movies that can hold my attention. Hunter Killer proved my prejudgments as completely false. This movie ranks up there with The Edge of Tomorrow (another movie that got unreasonable ratings) Watch this movie and you won’t be disappointed. It’s forward momentum is relentless and it’s one for the record books IMHO -SAM L
