The first 100 pages are quite good and the premise is well set up then the dialogue and story becomes so far fetched. For example when the rubber of a truck’s wheels start to melt they carry on on foot! The lead character is like a cartoon all action hero from the 1970s including in his dialogue. Gave up by page 184. Having read all of Crichton’s work before he sadly died I think this was only a skeleton which Patterson developed. Again sadly I stopped reading his novels about 15 or so years ago as they become quite weak and now seem to be all “co written”. This is not Jurassic Park - read that instead.
