Wonderful. Loved every part of it. Gut-wrenching, compassionate, and a definite major tearjerker. That's an understatement. It really moved me. Spielberg did a fine job of inter playing the many layers of War and the confusion in humanity and what war does and what foolish hatreds countries and peoples often have towards one another that causes these kinds of conflicts. The way he used the horse in this, in fact all the horses, was just superb. It's not mushy and maudlin, but gut-wrenching and thought-provoking.

I agree with the commentator who pointed out that this is a quiet, powerful drama that illuminates the behavior of ordinary Germans who became clearly convinced the evil of Nazism. They died quietly calmly in faith in Christ because they didn't fear dying but knew they did what was correct in the end. Agree, not a flashy film on any level but very powerful. Daniel Bruhl character he's also very good and a powerful one between his SS supervisor and himself.
