Am I the only person in the universe who didn't care for Peaky Blinders? The production had an "as-if" quality. Grace's make-up and hair-do are suited to the present day, not to 1919. Aunt Poll is so matriarchal it hurts. Whenever the actress would affect that deep stare and say something very Irish Gypsy, I wanted to slap her and tell her to get real. The romanticisation of Irish-ness wasn't as bad as Gangs of New York, but it comes close. I gave up after S1E4.

I'm really enjoying this, except for the irritating sub-plot about the female protagonist trying to fall pregnant via IVF. Why would a woman in a senior CIA position want to throw her career down the toilet by spawning? Not all women yearn to be brood mares. Anyway, this is, for the most part, an engaging series. The actor who plays Al-Masih has amazing presence. I hope we see more of him.

Spotted a glaring anachronism in the first 20 minutes. K.C. & the Sunshine Band's "Get Down Tonight" was definitely not playing in London clubs in 1970. The song wasn't released until 1975.
