As an avid watcher of historical series, I have to say this drama has taken a spot among the best that have existed to date. Now some people have said that the plot makes no sense but we have to remember its loosely based on korean history so Deok Im and Yi San did exist along with their love story. The actors bring them to life with all the character complexities. It could feel draggy to people who are more fast paced but if you enjoy stories about character more than just heavy plot then this might just be the drama for you.

Amazing Amazing Drama. Have watched it more than 5 times and the dialogues are still as fresh. Honestly it is so hard to come across dramas with smart female leads. Story of Minglan felt sooo cathartic and exciting to the very end knowing that our female lead is ACTUALLY the lead and does indeed lead the show without being a booster for the male lead's ego. TT.TT (writers we need more of this. sort please).

Yes it gets draggy in the middle because the focus shifts on the supporting characters but the story still flows and the development is important to the story. The storyline is pretty good but what rises above everything is the chemistry between the main leads. Yang mi was the reason I decided to watch this but Ethan played Wuji so beautifully and he did not pale in comparison to Yang mi at all. Both are strong characters but Wuji is definitely stronger. However the title is legend to fuyao because it follows her life and her adventures. Overall it is a good series which leaves you to miss the characters once it is over.
