My husband did not think it was anything spectacular but I found it to be true to the original and connected to the first really well. I'm not sure why people say the main character didn't grow. He had an insane character arc, forgiveness, truth, destiny and acceptance. The two brothers did a great job acting like crazy and tyrannical Caesars. It is historically inaccurate as I don't believe they were twins but rather a year apart. I don't think I'd have cast Denzel in that role, it brought about a lot of his Training Day character similarities so a lesser known actor may have been better suited. All in all it serves its purpose as an entertaining journey. I'd recommend it.

Stays true to the books and storylines. Thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Felt lost in the scenery, stories and suspense.

If you have not watched the movie how can you honestly, and in good faith leave a review? Form your own opinion, do not just follow the herd. I decided to watch Cuties tonight. Had it not been for all of the controversy around it I never would have even heard of it so well done social media. I watched it to form my own opinion. I did watch it looking for the child pornography and exploitation that everyone is upset about and I think that took away from some of the emotional impact of the film for me because I was judging going into it. If boys have a coming of age film it is funny. When girls have a raw and real coming of age film it is suddenly inappropriate. The movie brings to light the lack of role models for young girls. The true struggles of being a teenage girl and discovering yourself and the way the world views you or the way you believe the world should view you. These girls are mimicking what they think is what is expected of them. It brings to light serious social concerns and as a parent you are best not to put your head in the sand because they are very real and they are very present in the world we live in. We need to stop being so sensitive that we stop learning and censor ourselves to the point that there are no more freedoms anymore.
