Maqbool would stand on its own even if the connection with Macbeth is not mentioned. This is because of the intelligent adaptation. I think Pankaj Kapur was almost as good as Irfan Khan with understated mence. The final scenes are long drawn out & the death of Maqbool lacking drama. Outstanding film overall.

Film was sadly disappointing. The first half was slow & spent in establishing the characters. Prof Shonku was outclassed by Nokurbabu who provided the main sparks (literally). The second half could in parts have passed as a pleasant National Geographic documentary. Very little suspense followed by an anti-climatic finale.
