So much promise in the early seasons followed by complete disintegration in Season 5. The pathetically untalented actress who portrays a future Joanie (and looks nothing like her or her parents) is brought in to warn us of the perils of global warming. The story line is disjointed and preachy, full of implausible scenes, like the Montauk police records just sitting in boxes in the abandoned station.
In the meantime, previous interesting story lines are just dropped. Character arcs among the leads make no sense, and the new characters are trite and shallow. Also annoying are the haphazard appearances of new technologies in a bizarre attempt to make it a sci-fi series.
I gave it two stars, one for each of the first two compelling and well written seasons. Season 5 is bad enough to wipe out any of the stars that were merited in Seasons 3 and 4.
