Boring self-indulgent divisive disappointing. I did enjoy Hill House and Blythe Manor, but this is over the top in every way possible. Flanagan should focus less on his own "brand" and more about creating good television.

Most who are complaining about the movie either have zero tolerance for cinema that doesn't follow predictable narrative arcs or are offended in ways they don't understand.

A grotesque tale beautifully acted and wrought. Turned up those repellent memories of the unwanted attentions of older men in my youth. Couldn't watch it to the end.

I wanted to chuck my sugarplums in the first 5 minutes.

Have people lost their minds??? The acting was overblown--Moss was predictable and boring, the story made zero sense, and the premise typical Hollywood grandiosity and exaggeration. There seems to be a trend with films (Hollywood) these days to bend over backwards to be politically correct and the effect is just tedious. I think these reviews are rigged. I went to this movie based on the reviews and was completely disgusted. The only reason I stayed is because I only paid five bucks and it was the first film I'd seen in a cinema for five months. Don't waste your money. 5/10. Btw. There is someone who gave the film 7.5/10 but there are FIVE stars on his review? Something is not right here.
