They did a pretty good job with this movie. They stuck pretty close with the book which was nice. It was intense and suspenseful just how you would expect a hunger games movie to be. Tom Blynth was a solid choice for Snow, he was manipulative and calculated just how he is portrayed in the book. Rachel Zegler, however, was the wrong choice for Lucy Gray. Her character felt disconnected and acting was forced. This was likely very difficult to do but some of the movie scenes were rushed but there was a lot to get into the movie. Not a negative but in this movie there are a lot more death/murder scenes than in other hunger games movies. You saw nearly every tributes death and they were pretty brutal and personal killings. The down syndrome tribute I think was a little too dark and disturbing to have included. I get what they were trying to portray but that was too far.

Grace is the literal worst character. They should have never kept her around.

This is one of the better movies disney has made in a while. That being said its still not great. Just like other movies they have been making, there is not great character development. It feels like the characters are foreign and we never really connect with them. It all feels very surface level like meeting a stranger in passing, almost like there is no main cast. Also the story line was not half bad, however, some parts need additional context. It feels like I should have watched another movie before this for additional context. Emotions between characters are disconnected. Ben and Travis are supposed to have developed a bond and I know that from the story but their interactions do not show that. Same with Travis' mother and Ben. They have a romantic interest and I get that from the story but they emotional do not connect. Same with Ben and the Preacher. Interactions between characters do not match what the story is trying to show. The story felt rushed almost like they wanted to pack in so much and then ended up summarizing portions of the movie. Disney needs to step their game up dramatically. The newer movies do not stand a chance against older disney movies. The cast needs better acting talent, stories need to be deeper, and character development needs more focus. Please stop relying and special effects, past track record and advertising hype to get people into your movies. Those will never replace talented actors, deep story lines and solid production. I will watch Parent Trap 1000 more times before I rewatch this. Step it up Disney, step it up.

Probably one of the most underwhelming movies ever. It's just a movie about a bunch of whiney kids where everything is dramatic and romantic but really it's really just cheesy and annoying. The jokes are flat like old soda. Worst disney movie yet, that will change when they make another one though. They seem to keep making movies worse than the last.

I am sorry Tim Allen, the GREATEST BUZZ LIGHTYEAR there ever was, this was a slap in your face. Disney should have NEVER made such a horrendous film with your character.

Bad. It was just bad. Try again Disney or people are going to stop watching.

This is one of the better movies disney has made in the past 4 years. That being said it was still bad. I guess I need to stop watching these because I always hope they will finally release a good movie, but I am always let down. I get the feeling Disney writes these storylines much like I wrote grade school papers, the night before its due. Story was boring. Past Ant Man movies were funny this one had next to no humor. The humor they did attempt was terrible. Also please stop casting bad actors. The girl who played a Cassie was BAD. She should not have been in the movie at all. Every time she was on screen I wanted to vomit. They should have just brought back Michael Peña, T.I., and David Dastmalchian. Also Evangeline Lilly was good in the past movies but she was also terrible in this movie. Would have been better without her and Kathryn Newton.

Disney is struggling with movies lately. The music was chaotic and poorly written. It really was annoying to listen too. It just felt sloppy. This was one of those sequels where they could have either done amazing or tanked so bad I even have a sour feeling about the first movie now... it was the latter. They tanked. Disney seems to gave given up on hiring talent.

An amazing cast with incredible talent. They produced a wonderful story that draws you in. Kept me on the edge of my seat, figuratively. One of the few movies made recently not riddled with cursing and sex to sell tickets, or attempting to indoctrinate us with modern societal garbage.

It's sad to see the direction they are letting this show go. It should be based on each teams individual talents. This alliance business ruined that. When teams are telling other teams the answers to challenges there is no longer a challenge. It's become a show more about manipulation and plotting. I was immensely dissatisfied with this season. If this keeps up I probably will stop watching the show.
